You can see my rapid pencil drawing on one side, the cereal box (blank side) on the front black and white thermal long john box information on the other. This is one of many birds that I have made over the years, cutting their delicate shapes using an X-acto knife and cutting mat. I make things when I am taking a break from practicing and work of other types. . . birds are a constant theme for my imagination. This one has a sturdy golden string with two loops to hang the bird. The long legs are delicate, and I decided to glue another layer of cardboard to make them stronger. You can leave the bird in it's natural state, or you can paint it. Or you can glue it onto a collage. Or you can trace it and make a flock of your own.
